Black coloured Kutch Bandhni Stole in Gajji Silk with pink orange dots
Kutch tie & dye is renowned for its very fine dots and intricate patterning. The detailed patterning, the comforting use of dyes used to produce vibrant colours on luxurious fabrics, makes the bandhni a coveted possession. The process of creating one involves tying tiny knots (a process carried out by women) known as Bheendi, four of which make a Kadi, once the cloth is dyed these knots are opened and the bandhani is born.
Connoisseurs of the craft prefer to have their bandhnis with the knots still tied as this gives a great textured look to the stole. The Khatri community from Kutch are pioneers of this craft. This stunning Bandhni stole is made in pure silk and represents a modern take on an integral daily wear of the traditional Rabari women of Kutch.
