Natural Dyed Hand Block Printed Bagru Dupatta in Chanderi Cotton Silk 7
Bagru, Rajasthan is a small town about 35 km west of Jaipur, renowned for its distinctive hand-block printing and natural dyeing techniques that date back half a millennia. In this style, printing of dark or coloured motifs is done on a cream or dyed background. This process involves the use of natural mordants – like harda and alum – to capture the natural colours that are printed on the fabric using patterned blocks. This black and red coloured dupatta in Chanderi cotton silk has been hand block printed by master artisans.
